Large Event Analysis
The Large Event Analysis app in mXrap is a specialised tool designed to further investigate large magnitude seismic events in terms of ground motions (PPVs), source mechanics (moment tensors) and precursory/postcursory trends in microseismicity.
Key Features
- Map peak particle velocity (PPV) in 3D around selected large events based on event magnitude, distance, and site-specific or default SGM equations
- Generate 2D and 3D beach ball plots for selected large events or user defined source mechanics solutions (Full MT or Strike/Dip/Rake )
- Back analyse seismicity surrounding large events to build site-specific precursor knowledge using rate changes and source parameters
- Investigate seismicity distributions and parameter variations along potential failure planes centered on selected large events
